The Get Active Challenge is all about getting more active! To help you visualise this and set yourself a target, we have developed the Get Active Challenge tool which gives you the ultimate aim of travelling around the Cornish coast by converting any physical activity that you do into miles.

We will be running Corporate Challenges throughout the year which you can take part in as part of a team with your workmates but you can also set yourself Personal Challenges or Private Team Challenges at any other time (when the Corporate Challenge isn't running).

Divided into two categories - rhythmic and artistic. Involves performance of exercises requiring physical strength, flexibility, agility, co-ordination, balance and grace. Artistic gymnastics typically involves the women's events of uneven parallel bars, balance beam, floor exercise and vault. Men's events include floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar. Rhythmic gymnastics include various trampolining sports and aerobic and acrobatic gymnastics.

A gym usually includes a cardio area which includes many types of cardiovascular training-related equipment such as rowing machines, stationary exercise bikes, elliptical trainers and treadmills. A resistance area with resistance machines and free weights are often commonly found in gyms. This may include young people in the 14-16 age range, provided they are part of a larger adult group. Client groups also covered are older adults, ante and postnatal clients and disabled clients provided the relevant contraindications and key safety guidelines are observed

Health DID (Damsels in Distress)

Sportivate is a Sport England funded programme that gives more young people the chance to discover a sport that they love.

The programme gives 14-25 year-olds who are not particularly sporty access to six weeks of free or subsidised coaching in a range of sports. There's a wide range of activities on offer including judo, golf, tennis, wakeboarding, athletics and many more.
