Boscastle and Crackington Haven Gig Club

Boscastle and Crackington Gig Club was formed in 2004, with an aim of bringing this dynamic sport to the two communities and those around them. The club was formed with the support of our neighbours, Bude Gig Club and Port Isaac Gig Club.From the outset the club has intended to be open,friendly and inclusive. We enter races in and around North Cornwall, with a preference for longer events.The club currently has active rowers from18 to 64, with ladies and menís crews, vets and Supervets. We are planning to start juniors teams, from 14 upwards in the summer of 2013.Apart from racing we enter and create social and fun events on the beautiful north coast of Cornwall.Training TimesTimes vary dependant upon weather and training needs. The basic summer pattern is as follows:Tuesdays Ladies Crew TrainingWednesdays Beginners and Improvers Technique SessionsThursdays Menís Crew TrainingSaturday/Sunday All Club. Racing/Regattas/Training as announcedRowing LocationsWe row from Boscastle Harbour, Port Gavern beach and Upper Tamar Lakes, Kilkhampton. All locations are weather and wind dependant and are announced on our Facebook site.
