Keeping active during these difficult times is good for both your physical health and mental wellbeing. Any activity is better than no activity and even a relatively small amount can make a difference. Current activity guidelines recommend a minimum of 20-30 minutes of daily activity at moderate levels that lead to increased breathing but where you are still able to talk.

Finding ways to be active during the pandemic is challenging people to think differently depending on their home environment, whether they are in an identified vulnerable group and shielding and what access to outdoor space they have at or close to home. Social isolation and distancing measures dictate that the normal wide range of activities are now limited to relatively few.

The good news is that daily physical activity is permitted during lockdown and these activities are accessible to just about anyone, mostly free and with little need for specialised equipment.
