Run into a Healthier Workplace

Workplace running programmes provide a range of benefits for employers and the workforce. Running can improve psychological and physical well being, reducing absenteeism by helping protect against a wide range of serious illnesses such as cancer and heart disease as well as helping with weight loss and musculoskeletal conditions. Running can help reduce anxiety and relieve mild depression, as well as improve sleep and help in coping with stress.



Running groups allow employees to socialise or discuss work together in a relaxed environment away from the usual working environment. Workplace running programmes can therefore help to build a happier, healthier and more productive workforce. Run Cornwall provides a range of flexible and inclusive beginner-friendly opportunities in recreational running or athletics that anyone can have a go at.

So why not set up and lead a walk/run group in your workplace? All you need to set up a walk/run group is enthusiasm! As part of the offer we will provide you with the following:

  • 8 weeks of qualified leader arranged for a mutual time
  • Sessions based on the couch to 5k programme with a steady but progressive programme to slowly build up your running
  • Pay for one member of staff to attend the next available training course to be able to continue the group after the 8 weeks
  • Ongoing support for the group/leader with incentives for new members of staff who wish to join in
